Fledglings are baby birds that are all grown up but too young to fly on their own. They need a safe place to roost during their first few attempts at flapping their wings.

Fledglings sleep on branches. On a good day, fledglings will have many branches to choose from; these branches are enough to support the weight of a fledgling but too small for larger birds such as owls or hawks. Birds have an impressive ability to run and jump from branch to branch in search of food, which makes the inside of homes an excellent place for fledglings to sleep at night.
