They generally acquire their food from small particles of plants and other leftovers of the dead insects. Initially, they rely on organic food; however, they always remain half-eaten due to their enemies. They live on dead plants and moist soil conditions.

What Baby Earthworms Look Like?

Baby earthworms have the appearance of tiny threads which look transparent when they are born. They eat more and more develop segments on their body. In few days, their color becomes darker and visible. They come in the size of rice grain and luminescent white color. The color gets transformed with time, from white to yellowish and then finally to brown.

The color of the baby earthworm changes due to hemoglobin. In the end, they develop the color of an adult Earthworm. The size of the baby earthworm falls between half to one inch in length.

Mostly baby earthworms are similar to their adult counterparts. However, there is one distinction of clitellum. Baby earthworms don’t have a clitellum band in their body structure. They develop a clitellum band in their body with time, which helps Earthworms to be able to reproduce their species.

If you want to see baby earthworms by yourself, you will have to reach rainy forest areas. They exist in rainforest areas in great abundance. They may appear tiny in size, but baby earthworms are among those creatures which come out fully formed related to body parts of their adult versions. The skin of the baby earthworms is smoother.
