Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing Around“P” setting is for Pause. If you are increasing the ” P settings” you’re also increasing the time you pause between pellets. In doing this, it could create more smoke because pellets are being held for a longer time. This could result in a rise in the temperature. If you lower the “P settings” you are also reducing the interval during the pellet cycle. This can lead to less smoke as you’re feeding pellets more frequently and not giving them time to smolder. which will result in a greater temperature.
“P settings” are intended for usage in “SMOKE” modes, as this is the only option on your Pit Boss that is completely managed by time. They may affect those lower temperatures in between 200 and 250, but they are specifically intended to be used in “SMOKE”.
By changing the P-Settings setting, you alter the speed and flow of the pellet that the auger. Be careful when adjusting P-settings in a single step and allow them time approximately 30 minutes to adjust. If you make adjustments to your P-settings too much or frequently could cause more temperature issues, like the flame going out of control or huge temperature fluctuations.
