Once you have removed the mower belt from the Dixon ZTR427 mower, it is possible to be confused if you don’t take a photo of the routing pattern on the old one. When the ZTR 427 lawnmower was introduced in 1980, it came with a mower drive belt as standard equipment. This transfers power from the rear-mounted motor to the mower and also drives the blades. Install the belt on your mower on a flat surface.

Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing AroundDo not work on the lawnmower until the engine has been shut off and the key has been inserted into the ignition. Mow the lawn as low as possible by lowering the mower deck. The mower deck’s V-pulleys should receive the serpentine blade drive belt. The deck’s front is home to a single double pulley. It is near the middle. Both of the other deck pulleys may be found at the ends of the stairway.
Each pulley has a belt that runs around its outside. This is the side towards the edge of the mower deck. Only the double pulley at the front of your deck needs a belt routed around the lower pulley. Belt guards fitted to pulleys should be used. The belt should be positioned between the shield and pulley. Push the idler pulley to the center of the deck using your hand. The idler pulley is the fourth on the deck. It is located at the rear of the deck. It is the only pulley that can be moved on the deck. The belt should be wrapped around the pulley closest to the deck’s edge. To adjust the belt’s tension, release the idler pulley. The serpentine idler spring, which is located on the idler pulley adjusts the belt’s tension to the right level, does not require adjustment.
Mower Drive Belt
Install the mower drive belt by routing the pulley around the top pulley, on the double pulley at the front of your mower deck. The belt should be positioned towards the tractor’s rear, near the engine. The belt should be routed around the outside edge of the rearmost pulley. The rear drawer has an idler pulley in front of it. Pull it outward. The belt should be routed to the inside of the idler pulley. Release the idler lever. The system adjusts automatically; manual adjustments are not required.
